Family. At times you want to throw your hands in the air and scream, "Enough!" At other times you want to slide into a familiar hug or conversation and rest there, not wanting the moment to end.
This weekend proved to be the latter... I didn't want it to end!
I love my husband's family! Every single family member has been nothing but kind, generous and gracious to me since I have entered the family. I come from a small family, and when I married D, I became part of his enormous tribe! It can be overwhelming, to say the least--getting the relationship right or remembering the name--his family is LARGE! It is easy to get swallowed up if you are not paying attention and following along. No one brings a diagram--that would be helpful!
D's family was so amazing this past weekend--so fun, so lively, so talkative & vibrant, so caring, so sensitive, so generous--I find it so touching that it makes me cry every time I think about it. We had fun in the park picnicking, laughed and made fools of ourselves at a dance party, visited and ate delicious food at a baby shower, reminisced & made plans for the future over breakfast at a Cleveland Institution-- Corky & Lenny's. Two very important people were missing this weekend at the shower, my sister J and my mother-in-law E. They were there in my heart, as they always are, but their presence was definitely missed.
Everyone has so much love for Jenny Mei Xing! Everyone cannot wait to meet her! The family is so excited to be growing! And Jenny Mei will have cousins her age to get to know and to build relationships with! It is so very exciting!
I just want to shout, "You are so loved Jenny Mei Xing!" We can't wait to bring you home!
A la familia!
