Beijing!

We are here and checked into our Marriott Renaissance Hotel. Weather is a balmy 88 degrees, visibility is limited- pretty smoggy! Did I mention balmy?! Quite!

Our non-stop flight here was probably the best flight I have ever taken. The destination was uber exciting and we traveled first class! Dan did not hesitate to befriend the concierge-- he told him about our adoption journey...and voila! Upgrade!! What a way to travel! There is so much room! You don't bother people getting in and out of your seat, the lavatory is twice as large as coach, you have your own armrest, the tv screen is bigger, the meal was pretty decent as was the ice cream sundae...and vino!! My glass was refilled without even asking-- need I say more?

We are trying to stay awake and fighting through the time zone change, and so are about to wander out and find a place for a meal. We have a recommendation from our guide.

Emotions are high! Both of us are full of anticipation and happiness...we can't stop grinning!

  1. It just goes to show you...it never hurts to suck up to the Concierge or to tell everyone you know what you are up to...who can resist the Jenny Mei story?
